Review of The 12 Most Promising Stars in 2009

Last year, the 12 Most Promising Stars in 2009 was released. They are the stars who made it in 2008 and have the potential of making it big in 2009. These 12 stars are still visible this year but their stability in the industry is quite unsure. Thus, here's a short review of those who made it to the 12 Most Promising Stars in 2009.

GMA Network's Yasmien Kurdi failed to sustain her rising career in the previous year. 2009 is definitely not her year. No big project. No big movie. She's totally out of the visibility this year. Hopefully, GMA will give her fresh projects in 2010. She's a great young actress.

Cristine Reyes is one of this year's most talked about young star. The Dennis Trillo-Heart Evangelista issue, her typhoon Ondoy experience, Patient X movie, MMFF entry Ang Darling Kong Aswang, Korean Drama Awards nomination, plus TV projects under ABS-CBN, she's on top this 2009! Congrats Cristine for sustaining your career!

JC De Vera is probably the most controversial young actor of this year. This is the reason why his career became a so-so for being affiliated with GMA Network executive Wilma Galvante and her talent manager's conflict. This 2010, he'll be with Panday Kids. Hopefully, his 2009 issues will be erased to prosper his career as the next leading man to watch out.

Iwa Motto solidifies her kontrabida roles this year. From afternoon soaps to primetime, she's definitely the next Katrina Halili on GMA's roster of talents. Kapuso Network should give her more projects this 2010 to sustain her career.

Kim Chiu is this year's most successful young actress. 2009 is her year! From Tayong Dalawa to commercial endorsements up to her first movie without Gerald Anderson, the MMFF entry I Love You Goodbye, she proved everyone that she's no longer the Kim Chiu we first saw in PBB.

Valerie Concepcion's career this year that she's in the Kapamilya Network is quite not good. Her hosting stints in Wowowee failed to contribute to her growing popularity when she was in the Kapuso Network. No teleserye so far was given to her by ABS-CBN. No love team. Will she make it this 2010?

KC Concepcion is ever popular this year. From movies to her first primetime teleserye, KC is tagged as ABS-CBN's newest leading lady. But she needs to work harder for her career. The Kapamilya's ground is full of talented new comers. Remember that Lovers in Paris is not that impressive as it was expected.

Gerald Anderson also impressed his fans this year! From Tayong Dalawa to Agimat, Gerald successfully honed his acting skills this 2009! Hopefully, he'll continue doing great on his upcoming projects in 2010.

Rhian Ramos is definitely a grown up leading lady of the Kapuso Network. Her love team with Dingdong Dantes for Stairway to Heaven is applauded by many. People are now looking forward for her next projects in 2010.

Jake Cuenca's career in ABS-CBN this year is quite impressive but unsure if he will make it in 2010. He was paired with Kim Chiu for Tayong Dalawa then to Cristine Reyes for other projects. There was no consistency on his career but despite all of these, he's still popular to many.

Charisse is definitely the Philippine's international star now. Though she was not that popular to the Filipinos in the country, she made it big internationally. Backed with Oprah Winfrey, her career will surely continue this coming year.

Karylle's move to ABS-CBN this year is a good move for her career. She gained more popularity than when she was in GMA Network. She was exposed to various Kapamilya shows from ASAP to teleseryes. More for Karylle this 2010 is a promise from ABS-CBN.
