ATBP's 12 Most Promising Stars in 2011

2010 is a colorful year in the showbiz industry. We have seen a lot of great new shows and quality productions. Now, its about time to recognize the stars who made outstanding performances this year and will hopefully capture more audience and fans for this 2011.

Here are the 12 Most Promising Stars in 2011 in no particular order:


1) Jillian Ward - The child superstar of the Kapuso Network this year is undoubtedly the most promising child actress. After bagging the title role Trudis Liit in the afternoon drama block of GMA, Jillian instantly become a household name. 2010's Christmaserye Jillian: Namamasko Po is her second lead role and is her first primetime project. She's also part of the blockbuster movie Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote and will be pairing with Richard Gutierrez in the second saga of Captain Barbell.


2) Vice Ganda - 2010 is definitely Vice Ganda's year. She instantly rose into fame when she became part of the top-rating Kapamilya talent show Showtime. Viva Films also gave her her first movie via the blockbuster Petrang Kabayo. Among the gay celebrities who got their breaks in showbiz, Vice Ganda is more than just a comedy icon of the new generation.


3) Alex Gonzaga - Alex is more than just a shadow of her sister Toni Gonzaga. Now that she's making her own name in the Kapatid Network, Alex Gonzaga is certainly the star to watch out for this 2011. She's hosting the entertainment talk show Juicy, doing comedy for the gag show Lokomoko U and drama acting for BFGF all in TV5. She will also have her first primetime teleserye also in the Happy Network via Babaeng Hampaslupa.

4) Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco - Pinoy Big Brother Double Up! graduates Melai and Jason are doing well in their 2010 showbiz big break. Melai, after bagging the Big Winner for their season instantly rose into stardom along with her on-screen-turned-real-life boyfriend Jason. Their Melason tandem is an instant hit which gave them numerous project including teleseryes Kokey@Ako, Impostor, and the gag show Banana Split. ATBP hopes to see them more and great projects suitable for them this 2011.


5) Joshua Dionisio, Barbie Forteza, Bea Binene and Jhake Vargas - Kapuso tween stars Joshua, Barbie, Bea and Jhake are certainly this year's most promising young artists. Joshua and Barbie started as a young couple portraying the young Cholo and Jodi in the Kapuso remake of the Koreanovela Stairway to Heaven. This became their ticket to fame which led them to star in their very own teleserye First Time. Bea and Jhake are also part of this top rating pre-primetime teen drama. After this soap, the four starred in yet another hit show, Kapuso's Sunday drama Tween Hearts. Aside from doing drama, they are also part of Party Pilipinas and of the blockbuster MMFF movie Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote.


6) Andi Eigenmann - Who would not know this another young Kapamilya actress who first star in the primetime top rater Agua Bendita. She's maybe new to the industry but her family background tells otherwise. Regal Films got her signed for movie contracts while her mother studio ABS-CBN is continuously giving her breaks. After doing a Your Song special, Andi is set to do another teleserye opposite Coco Martin this 2011.


7) Elmo Magalona - Party Pilipinas's resident rapper, Elmo is Francis M.'s little boy and is now slowly making his own trademark in the industry. He became very visible on several teleserye including Pilyang Kerubin and Bantatay. His collaboration with another young singer Julie Ann San Jose in Party Pilipinas is also getting popularity among the younger viewers.


8) Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes - ABS-CBN's remake of Judy Ann Santos-Gladys Reyes original teleserye Mara Clara gave way to Kathryn and Julia's biggest break in showbiz. Mara Clara is a consistent top rater both in Mega Manila and Nationwide TV ratings. Noting their performances as the next Juday and Gladys, these Kapamilya young actresses are promising in 2011 given great new shows.


9) Rocco Nacino - StarStruck V's alumnus Rocco may not even won the title in the reality TV show where he came from but looking at the path of their career, Rocco is the most promising among their batch. He is currently Kris Bernal's leading man in the afternoon soap Koreana and is a resident performer in the Kapuso Sunday show Party Pilipinas.


10) Xyriel Manabat - Another child superstar is Kapamilya's young Agua Bendita. After the doing her outstanding role as the young Andi Eigenmann, Xyriel was given another primetime series via Momay. The top-rating pre-primetime drama also became her ticket to join another ABS-CBN top rater Noah.


11) Enchong Dee - Last year, Erich Gonzales was included on our list. This year, it's time for her leading man to score a spot. 2010 is obviously his year. He appeared on several Kapamilya shows including Tanging Yaman, Magkaribal and Shout Out! In movies, Star Cinema is generous enough to give him two movies in 2010 such as Sa'Yo Lamang and I Do. This 2011, watch out for his upcoming teleserye Maria La Del Bario  and Agimat both in ABS-CBN.


12) Sam Pinto - Without a doubt, Sam Pinto's move from ABS-CBN to GMA did great for her career. Now, she's one of the Kapuso Network's next leading lady. Aside from being a performer in Party Pilipinas, Sam is also part of the MMFF entry Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote and of the Christmaserye Jillian: Namamasko Po! 

See! Indeed, 2010 is a fruitful year to these stars. With the growing competition in the industry, these artists should continuously hone their skills to consistently stay on top. Cheers for more projects this 2011! Congratulations everyone!
