Review: Mr. Peabody and Shermann

What happens when a dog adopts a boy?

Mr. Peabody is almost everything, a business titan, inventor, scientist, Nobel Laureate, gourmand, two-time Olympic Medalist, and genius.. who also happens to be a dog. With all the success, Mr. Peabody decides to adopt a human boy, Sherman. Raising a human boy has its ups and downs, but Mr. Peabody was able to handle it with a breeze.

Using his most ingenious invention, theWABAC machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted human son, Sherman, hurtle back in time to experience world changing events first hand and interact with the some of the greatest characters of all time. It was a unique way of learning.

But when Sherman breaks the rules of time travel, the two find themselves in a race to repair history, and save the future.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a heartfelt movie about fatherhood and parenting. Here are some lessons you may learn from the movie:

- Every man can be a father but it takes a Special one to be a Dad.

- Every parent wants the best for their children, cloaking them with the comfort and protection they need. Little do we know, we are doing them more harm than good.

- You can bring out the best of your child by believing that They are the BEST in whatever they do.

At the first half of the movie, I really thought that Sherman was stupid, but towards the end of the movie, I realize that he indeed is also a genius, like Mr. Peabody. He just doesn't know yet.

Mr Peabody proves to be an overly protective but definitely a great dad. He may be a dog, but Mr. Peabody surely made Sherman feel special and loved. It may not be the normal dad-son relationship situation, but what the heck, it doesn't matter as long as you  love one another.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is still shown in major cinemas nationwide. Go catch it with your Dad for a complete bonding experience.
