Being Glued to 'Queen Seon Deok'

Compared to the previous Korean dramas shown in the Philippines, Queen Seon Deok remains stable on its current TV ratings. Though it was not as high as other key teleseryes of the country, such as those from May Bukas Pa, Darna and The Last Prince, I consider Queen Seon Deok as a high quality TV drama. Like the previous Korean hit Jewel In The Palace, GMA Network's current primetime Koreanovela Queen Seon Deok is a must see.

I really like the story. To be honest, as it was known for a fact that the story of Queen Seon Deok is based from a true story, I am always surprised with the daily story lines. In times, while watching a certain episode, I tell myself, is this for real? Do Korea really have this amazing historical background? Here's the synopsis of the show taken from DramaWiki:

Dukman was born a twin but was abandoned as a baby and sent to a place far away by her father, King Jinpyeong in order to protect her from being killed by an influenced royal court lady, Mishil who tries to snatch away the throne from the royal successor. Dukman was later brought back to the Silla palace, where she joined forces with her twin sister Princess Cheonmyong to oppose Mishil. However, Mi-shil devised sinister plans to have the two Silla princesses exiled from the kingdom, and in a secretive battle, Princess Cheonmyong was assassinated by Mi-shil. But Princess Dukman shrewdly enlisted the help of General Kim Yusin and eliminated her archenemy Mishil. She then became Queen Seon Duk, the first female ruler of the Silla kingdom. This drama is about a story of a beautiful queen, who has to give up her love to save the people and thus, leaving behind many brilliant achievements.

As the story goes on and on, I'm looking forward to catch every episode of the show despite my hectic schedule. It's one of the best Korean drama to date!
