After a decade, Godzilla is Back (Movie Review)

The Godzilla Movie is a reboot of the Godzilla franchise and was shown in the Philippine cinemas last May 15. This is the second Godzilla film that is remaked by an American production. There are also several Godzilla  films that are made in Japan, which it first originated. It had been more than 10 years before they decided to reboot the film.

The first few minutes of the film, the history of Godzilla was narrated. At first glance, you would have the impression that Godzilla is humanity's enemy that needed to be eradicated. As the film progress, you'll know the real score about Godzilla.

There's a hidden message in the Godzilla film, you'll see how the World War felt way back. You can really feel the tremor and fear that the people felt that time. From what I have researched, Godzilla is a representation of what actually happened during the war. Since the writer and author of Godzilla originated from Japan, The two monsters that Godzilla fought represented the two cities that was greatly affected by the war, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Those were the two cities that was affected by the nuclear bombing during the world war.

I enjoyed watching Godzilla. It portrays that there's good in each and everyone of us, despite the appearances and image we project. Godzilla is a monstrous beast who for humans may seem to be the enemy, but Godzilla was nature's way to restore balance. Humanity just needed to put their FAITH into something, even though your whole perception of it is screwed. We may not understand things, we know that at the back of our minds, nature will always take its natural course, whether we like it or not.

Godzilla is still shown in major cinemas, watch it this payday weekend with your family.
