Skippy’s Bar & Grill: The newly opened Australian Sports Bar in BGC

Skippy’s Bar & Grill is a newly opened sports bar and restaurant in Bonifacio Global City. Skippy's brings a piece of Australian goodness in the Philippines. It offers scrumptious and filling grubs for every hungry tummy, Aussie or local alike. You will find honest-to-goodness Aussie comfort food like the imported Aussie Meat Pies (choice of chicken or beef) from Down Under, the famous Aussie burger, Aussie steaks and lamb chops, and fish and chips are fast-becoming house specialties.

Here are some of the dishes we've sampled that you could try as well:

Green Salad (Php 250)

The Green Salad is composed of lettuce, capers, pitted olives, green bell pepper, cucumber topped with ham grilled chicken egg and cheese with a side of homemade dressing. The salad was overwhelming because of its packed with ingredients.

Skippy's Salad (Php 250)

The Skippy's salad is somehwat similar with their green salad. I didn't notice any difference at all. The dressing's also the same. I just felt that the salad was too stuffy with all those jam packed ingredients, but none the less, it tasted quite alright.

Battered Dimsims (Php 250)

Australians call Dimsum as Dimsims, which I find very cute and witty. The dimsims is not different from your favorite deep fried meat dumplings. What I exceptionally liked about it is the chicken salt which was packed with flavor. I want to take them home and put it in all my meals.

Potato Scallops (Php150)

The potato scallops is simply made with potatoes coated in a batter with a side of Mayo and the umami-licious Chicken Salt. As I have observed, Chicken salt brings an added flavor to these battered and deep fried dished. Some may not welcome the added sodium, but for me, I liked it.

Chook Fingers (Php 150)

Skippy's Chook fingers is made of chicken breast strip, coated with egg, flour, Japanese bread crumbs, with a side of sweet chili sauce. It tastes okay and similar to a chicken tender with a different name.

Shepherd's Pie (Php 450)

It is a typical western comfort food. It is made of ground lamb with rosemary and olive oil, topped with mashed potato, parmesan and mozarella. Skippy's Shepherd's pie is on the dot delicious.

Single Burger (Php 250)

Skippy's Single Burger is typical western burger. The patty is made of Angus ground beef,  beetroot, with lettuce, pickles, tomato, onions, topped with cheddar cheese with a side of chips. Their burgers are big, like how Westerns like it and the price is cheaper than other local sports bar.

Shawarma Pizza (Php 450)

Skippy's Shawarma Pizza is made of thin pizza crust topped with concase, onion, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, grilled sirloin with mozarella and yogurt. The pizza was scumptious, because it was thin crust (how I like my pizzas) and the flavors are tangy and yummy.

Chicken Parmigiana (Php 450)

Parmigiana is one of my comfort food go-to. I haven't tasted a bad Parmigiana yet, and Skippy's sure did not disappoint. It is chicken topped with parmigiana sauce, cream and lots of cheese. Yum!

Salisbury Steak (Php 195)

Skippy's Salisbury steak is made of Angus ground beef with demi glaze and button mushroom. It is served with a side of coleslaw and rice. The taste is similar to our own burger steak but delicious in different levels. And it is included in their lunch promo of Php195, not bad for its serving size.

Babyback Ribs (Php 195)

Skippy's Babyback Ribs is packed with flavors, oozing with BBQ sauce for just Php195.Surprisingly, Babyback ribs is also included in their lunch promo, which made my eyes lit with happiness. It was a great deal, don't miss ordering their ribs.

Skippy's also serves breakfast until late afternoon. Even though it was 9:00PM, they let us try their breakfast sets as follows:

Basic Breakfast (Php 165)

The basic breakfast set consists of toasted bread with butter, eggs, with a choice of bacon or frankfurter as a source of protein.

Big Breakfast (Php 310)

Skippy's Big Breakfast is a full English Breakfast. It consists of toasted bread with butter, eggs, bacon, frankfurter, hashbrown, baked beans, grilled tomato and mushroom. This meal is so packed that it will leave two person satisfied after finishing the meal.

What's good about Skippy’s, they never scrimps on ingredients and serving-size, making it great for hungry foodies (like me) or for a group of friends who just would like to have a great time. Another plus is that their bar boasts of an excellent selection of Australian beers like Victoria Bitter, and Crown Lager as well as other top-notch imported beers to toast on along with those scrumptious meals above.

Skippy’s open daily from Monday to Sunday,  and serves breakfast for as low as P165 with great selection to choose from 9AM to 3PM. They also has its affordable lunch menu for only P195, ready to make any tummy happy from 11AM to 7PM. One can enjoy Skippy's delicious and affordable meals any time of the day.

Not only that, at Skippy’s there’s always a reason to celebrate starting from its drink till you drop unli-cocktail promotion happening every Sunday to Thursday. For a meager price of Php 379, one can drink to his heart’s desire with over 40 selections to choose from. They also have themed nights depending on your mood for the day. Skippy's have Beer Pong Mondays, Tuesday Acoustics, Corporate Wednesday (get 10% discount upon presenting corporate ID), Spin-off Thursday ft. Skippy’s house DJ, and Rock-on Friday and Saturdays with local blues and rock artists performing live.

It was nice meeting Skippy's owners, Sydney-native business man, Steve Bird and his wife Tina, along with Gela. Thank you Aldous for organizing another successful Blogger event!
