GMA to launch newest musical variety show 'Studio 7'

For Kapuso fans, the long wait is over! The network decided to come up with their musical variety show that will showcase the talents of their artists.

According to the recent article released by GMA Network, the new musical variety show entitled Studio 7 is set to air starting October 14. But instead of going head to head with ABS-CBN's ASAP, Studio 7 will be aired on Sunday evening after Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.

GMA used to broadcast the widely followed musical variety shows SOP, Party Pilipinas and Sunday All Stars. However, the network suffered a decline in ratings prompting the management to replace their Sunday noontime slot with a musical gag show in the name of Sunday PinaSaya. Singers and performers from the defunct Kapuso musical variety shows started to move to the Kapamilya Network. Among the notable ones are Ogie Alcasid, Jaya, Kyla, Jay-R and Jonalyn Viray.

The Kapuso fans have been clamoring for years for the network to revive a musical variety show format for their Sunday noontime slot. Studio 7 may be their answer to this request.

Studio 7 will feature Christian Bautista, Julie Ann San Jose, Mark Bautista, Gabbi Garcia, Kyline Alcantara, Migo Adecer, Mikee Quintos, and Kate Valdez. The Kapuso returnee Rayver Cruz and twins Cassy and Mavi Legaspi are also part of the show. The Clash contestants are also expected to join the program.

Ms. Regine Velasquez, who is currently being rumored to transfer to ABS-CBN, is not officially announced as part of Studio 7. Could this be a sign that she's really leaving GMA-7?
